Typical House Building Costs
I would suggest you list your priorties and find a real estate agent to help you pick out your lot.
Some things to consider are?
1. Do you want to live in the city area or the county area.
2. City lots have sewer, water meter connections and PG&E available. The city fees are quite high for sewer connection as the treatment plant on Freeman Lane has issues so sewer connection fees are quite high.
If you opt for a two acre lot without sewer, water or PG&E to the site in a city or county area the seller of the lot should provide you a perc and mantle test and a report. If adjacent parcels are built out and it's county, CDA can provide information relating to previous wells drilled as well as based on the APN and address.
3. New construction vs. manufactured homes:
A. Manufactured homes today are high quality today but don't offer the same as a design built home by a local contractor who can work with you through the design phase, permitting process, provide a cost estimate and guide you through and make your custom home a reality.
